Mai Khao Travel Guide | Mai Khao beach is famous for being the nesting area of the Giant Leatherback turtle, plane spotting, and one of Phukets bigger water parks. It is ideal for those looking for a quit holiday away from nightlife and mass tourism.

Mai Khao beach is famous for being the nesting area of the Giant Leatherback turtle. Each year, aroud the end of March or early days of April, baby turtles are released into the Andaman Sea. This event is usually sponsored by one of the big resorts to raise awareness of the endangered sea turtles.

A daily activity on Mai Khao beach is plane spotting. Look for Soi Mai Khao 6 and follow until you reach the beach. On the right lies Mai Khao Palm Beach Resort. At the end of the sandy road you can park your car or motorbike and walk on the beach. Sit down, relax, and enjoy all types of planes flying overhead towards Phuket International airport.
