The 61-meter-high pagoda was built in 2001 to store a relic, the Buddha bone, which was presented by the Sri Lanka government to King Rama IX in 1999 in honor of his 72nd birthday.

The decoration of the pagoda is truly impressive. The walls are painted with scenes from Buddha’s life, and there are many statues in the halls.
